Viola K. Tucker, nee Brunworth, 102, of Edwardsville, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born on Nov. 24, 1910, in Hamel, Ill., died at 7:20 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, Ill.

Mrs. Tucker was a former supervisor of Collinsville Township, former Collinsville Township office manager and case worker, and a charter member of the Madison County Transit District. In addition to her service on the church council of St. John United Church of Christ, Vi has been a member of the St John Women's Guild for more than 75 years, having served as its president for three terms. She also served on the Long Range Planning Committee and Charity Dinner Committee. Her civic activities include serving as a volunteer for the Auxiliary at Anderson Hospital, a member of the Friends of the Collinsville Memorial Public Library, Friends of the Collinsville Historical Society and a past member of the Business and Professional Women.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Tucker Sr.; sons, Ernest A. Tucker and Herman C. Tucker, Jr.; parents, Gotleib and Sophia, nee Schmidt, Brunnworth; and granddaughter, Pamela L. Lukens.

Surviving are her grandson, Thomas (Sue) Tucker of Edwardsville, Ill.; granddaughters, Delores A Retani of Coral Gables, Fla., Renee R. (Ralph) Herrmann of Abilene, Texas, Monica D. Reed of W. Hollywood, Calif., and Tamara L. Lindsey of Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb,. 25, 2013, at the church with the Rev. Tony Minear officiating. Interment in St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
