Virginette A. "Virgie" Cannon, nee Kuechle, 86, of Collinsville, Ill., born on Dec. 2, 1925, in Watkins, Minn., died at 3:50 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living in Collinsville, Ill.



Mrs. Cannon was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Altar Society and the Rosary Society and the Wednesday Warriors at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Ill.



"Virgie" was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Cannon whom she married on May 30, 1952; son, Robert E. Cannon; parents, Joseph A. and Frances, nee Wick, Kuechle; step mother, Christine Kuechle; brothers and sister, Leroy Kuechle, Wilfred Kuechle and Valeria Laidle.



Surviving are her daughters, Linda(Jerry) Frerker of Collinsville, Ill., Teri (Larry) Webster of Mascoutah, Ill., and JoAnn (Bob) Wilkinson of Henderson, Nev., daughter-in-law, Patty Cannon of Caseyville, Ill.; honorary son, Kenny (Connie) Laidle of Vincennes, Ind.; grandchildren, Kelly Cannon, Kari (Ryan) Kinzel, Lori (Ryan) Hinrichs, Jeni Granda, Allen (Anna) Vieluf and Andrew Vieluf; great-grandchildren, Travis and -Ethan Kinzel, Natalie Vieluf and Molly, Rachel, Claudia and Darcy Granda; and brother, Eugene (Donna) Kuechle of Caseyville, Ill. Also survived by many, nieces, nephews and aunts.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.



Friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Ill.



Funeral: Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the church with Father John Beveridge officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
