Virginia Lee Darnell

Virginia Darnell, 89, of Caseyville, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, Nov 22, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill. Virginia was born July 17. 1927, in East St Louis, Ill., to Thomas J. and Agnes, nee Lynch, Dunn.

She retired from Southwestern Bell after 20 years of service. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and St Ann Alter Society. Virginia was a loving supporter of St. Judes Hospital and Poor Clare Nuns.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas E. Darnell whom she married on Sept 29, 1945; parents, Thomas J. and Agnes, nee Lynch, Dunn; brother, Thomas "Douglas" Dunn; sisters, Myrtle Leemon and Joyce Baechle.

She is survived by her daughter and Son-in law, Penny and Jesse Johnson of Caseyville, Ill.; sister, Emma Reichert of Caseyville,Ill.; special friends, Jessie Bush, Autumn Hall, Myra Gummersheimer, Amy Schield and Curt Rodenmeyer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville,Ill., Burial to follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville,Ill.
