Virginia M. Wrigley, (Ginny) 77, of Collinsville, Illinois passed away Tuesday, March 15th, 2016. She was born Sunday, November 27th, 1938 to James L. And Clara (Marie Shea) Oatman in Highland, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James M. Oatman and one son-in-law, Tom Crowell.Virginia is survived by daughter, Margot Ann (late Tom) Crowell of Arcadia, Missouri, two sons; Michael S. (LeeAnn) Wrigley of Collinsville, Illinois, Mitchell D. (Cleda) Wrigley of Collinsville, Illinois, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Virginia was a well rounded individual enjoying many activities and accomplishments through out life. She attended Collinsville Highschool and was First Chair Flute soloist during her Junior/Senior year. As a young women she played softball for the Collinsville Rockets. She also worked for Burroughs corporation as a bookkeeper which initiated her deep love for accounting and tax preparation.
Virginia was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was fun and creative planning many outings and events which centered around art and music. Home design and fun projects were alway on her list. She made her house a home.
Virginia enjoyed a long career in accounting and tax preparation. Her profession accelerated with the position of St. Louis District Manager for H&R Block. She was with Block for 7 years when she left to peruse her own private accounting and tax service. She was honored with the status of Enrolled agent to practice before the I.R.S. She delighted in serving her clients and experienced a very successful profession for over 33 years. Her clients referred to her as counselor and friend. She will be foundly remembered and missed.
Memorial Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 30th at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville with funeral at 6:15 pm. Graveside will be Thursday, March 31st 2016 at 10:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
