Wanda Sue Mask (nee Trotter), 83 of Freeburg, passed away on October 21, 2021.

Wanda, better known as just "Sue", was born on June 12, 1938 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Butch, who she met in grade school and who was only 20 minutes older than she. Together they had three children and lived happily together in Belleville and then Troy, Illinois.

Sue ("Mrs. Sue") was a teacher of cosmetology at Coiffure School of Cosmetology for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2001.

Sue loved spending time with her family, playing games, reading books, telling stories, celebrating holidays, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Game Show Network, and eating a slice of pizza from Alfonzo's or a chicken chimichanga at her favorite Mexican restaurant, Mi Casa.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Harris and Herman Trotter; grandchild Amber Boydte; and husband who she loved more than anything, Bobby "Butch" Mask.

Survivors include her brother: Leroy Trotter of Washington; three children: Vickie (Bill) Boydte of Shiloh, Illinois, Bobby (Cheryl) Mask Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cheryl (Kevin) Dawe of Belleville, Illinois; her nine grandchildren Kacey Selliers, Matt (Deanna) Dawe, Kyle Selliers, Lauren (James) Sexton, Jake Mask, Tyler Mask, Jeremy Heffernan, Chris Heffernan, Desi (Steve) Bochte; and great-grandchildren: Mina, Emily, Elena, and Cora; and many, many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Sue's memory to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the St. Louis Ronald McDonald House Charities.
