William O. "Busse" McGuire, 87, formerly of Mount Vernon, Ill., and Maryville, Ill., born April 15, 1928, in Mount Vernon, Ill., died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015.

William was retired from A.O. Smith in Granite City, Ill., with 30 years of service. He also served his nation in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil R. and Aney, nee Bain, McGuire; and two sisters, Martha Lou McCarter and Cecile Boyer.

William is survived by sons, Michael (Cozette) McGuire of Maryville, Ill., Bob (Karen) McGuire of Marine, Ill., and Dennis (Dawn) McGuire of Shiloh, Ill.; and daughters, Teresa (Chuck Nuernburg) Achor of Baton Rouge, La., and Linda (Mike) Leonard of Troy, Mo. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
