William Otto Schreiber, 91, of Highland Ill., and formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born May 31, 1925, in Collinsville, Ill., passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the Faith Countryside Nursing Home, Highland, Ill.
Bill was well known in Collinsville, Ill.; as he operated the Schreiber Market on E. Main St. for many years. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and proudly served as President of the council at Faith Countryside Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marnette, nee Long, Schreiber, whom he married March 30, 1994; and his parents, Otto and Anna, nee Dilba, Schreiber.
Surviving are his niece and nephew, Christopher and Blanche Williams of Highland, Ill.; and a sister-in- law, Charlene Thompson of Highland, Ill.
Memorials may be given to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Hospice of Southern Illinois, or Faith Countryside Nursing Home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Services: Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at the funeral home, with Rev. Kyle Wright officiating. Internment will follow immediately in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
