Obituary

William Carl Shaw, age 69, peacefully passed away at home on December 22, 2021.  He was born on February 7 th , 1952, in Rochester, New York to Carl and Betty Brown Shaw.  He is survived by his wife Andrea (Franklin) of 32 years.  They were united in marriage on December 27, 1989. He is also survived by sons Adam (Kate) Shaw of Madison, South Dakota, Eric (Melissa) Shaw of Rochester, New York, Tony (Amy) Vullo of Troy, Illinois, and Nick (Lisa) Vullo of St. Charles Missouri.  Nine grandchildren – Brandon, McKenna, Daveney, Isabella, Dylan, Sophia, Mia, Ryan, and Dominic.  One sister Nancy Anderson (Jeff Swain) of Garner, North Carolina.  Bill was also blessed with his mother-in-law, multiple brother and sisters-in-laws, and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Carl, mother Betty and sister Suzanne (Shaw) Durgee.

Bill held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and Economics from SUNY Empire State College.  He worked for Eastman Kodak Company for 31 years as a Quality Assurance Engineer.  He retired in 2006 with many memories and friendships that he truly cherished.  Bill had two passions in life.  He was extremely passionate about his family and every decision he made in life focused on the betterment of his family.  During his retirement years he loved to travel around visiting his grandkids and watch them take part in their activities.  His other passion was the Buffalo Bills.  He spent every Sunday cheering on the Bills either in his living room or at Orchard Park, New York.  One of his favorite things was taking each son to a Bills game every year.  The special bond and memories of these Sunday events will be cherished forever.  Bill would be the first person to drop everything and help anyone out.  He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and golfing with family and friends any chance he was given.  His infectious personality and comical entertainment will be missed.

A Buffalo Bills themed service will be held on Thursday, December 30 th at 6:00pm at Herr/Sunset Hill Funeral home in Edwardsville, Illinois.  Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00pm with family present.  A second Celebration of Life service will be held in Rochester, New York, in Spring of 2022.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the MDS Foundation at www.mds-foundation.org in honor of Bill.
