Zoe Philip Vandaveer, 98, of Spring, Texas, formerly of Collinsville, IL, passed away August 2, 2021.
He served in WWII in the Army Air Force from 1942 until 1946. He moved to Texas to be near
his children and grandchildren. He retired from Jones and Granger Law Firm in Houston, Texas in 2002. He followed all University of Illinois sports and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He kept busy attending his grandsons' sports games. He was an avid reader and loved music, especially the Big Bands of the 1940's.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Gladys (McDowell) Vandaveer; his parents,
Alice and Zoe Vandaveer Sr., and brother, Henry Vandaveer.
Surviving are daughter, Judith Gauen and husband, Stephen; sons, Michael, Jon and wife, Lisa;
grandsons, Michael and Matthew Gauen and wife, Traci; Justin Vandaveer and wife, Katie and
Connor Vandaveer; great-grandchildren; Johnathan and Joshua Gauen and McKinsley and
Kendalyn Vandaveer.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Illinois.
